E-Type UK News

We will be holding an open day at our premises on March 24th. We hope to offer something for both current and prospective E-type owners. We will be able to use our, recently expanded, showroom and workshop. If you would like further information or would like to book a test drive in our e type demo please contact us.

E-type UK have teamed up with the well-known John Mangoletsi who has created a bespoke Inlet manifold and throttle pedal which further improves the throttle response in conjunction with the Electronic Fuel Injection.

More information on this exciting development will follow shortly, if you require any further information on this subject in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The first week in February we will have our 1967 late Series 1 4.2 demo car ready for our UK customers to test drive.

Way over in the US an identical demo car is being prepared by E-type UK for our Californian customers. The US demo car will be complete with ultimate specification, Fuel Injection and other upgrades and will be ready for demonstrations by early summer.

In February 2012 we hope to have the new E-Type UK demo car ready. The demo car is a 1967 late Series 1 4.2, finished in Opalescent Silver Grey. With Fuel Injection and other upgrades.

Our demo cars have proved to be invaluable, for instance deciding what upgrades to fit to your E type can be complex.

It has taken a lot of hard work and time from the team at E-Type UK but our showroom is now ready!

The E-Type UK Forum over the past few years has taken off incredibly. The aim of the Forum was and still is to encourage like minded E-type enthusiasts and owners to have one place that they could go to where they would be able to build an online e-type community.

We have now reached over 1000 registered users, but we want more! Lets encourage other enthusiasts to use the site.

As you already hopefully know the forum is totally free!

Current registered users are 1119 (as of 19/01/12), number of articles on the forum 18230.

E-Type UK have had wonderful news that Chassis number 18 won the Concours at the Goodwood Revival.

E-Type UK restored this wonderful e-type using restored period second hand parts rather than reproduction new ones. The car owned by Colin Pearcy was invited to race at the Goodwood Revival, 2011, alongside at least 5 genuine lightweight's and 2 other ZP cars.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at Chelsea Auto Legends at the weekend. It was a fantastic event with lots going on and it was set in the stunning grounds of Chelsea hospital.

It was a great shame that the heavens opened for much of the day but it didn't seem to put people off and we got to meet many jaguar e-type enthusiasts and owners.

We are delighted with the September, 2011 issue of Jaguar World, as there is a wonderful article from Jim Patten about one of our e-types. We supplied Jim with one of our 'upgraded' 1967 Series 1 roasters for his trip to Jersey. The result was a wonderful touring holiday for Jim who was later joined by his wife Karen and a fantastic review of our e-type.

"I was delighted to see the E-type, restored by E-Type UK, had its subtle upgrades effectively out of sight. The five-speed gearbox appeared to have been there from the day the car was made with the gear lever perfectly positioned. Beneath the bonnet the most obvious change was to a six-branch exhaust manifold and sports system. So discreet did the coilover dampers appear that it took even me a second look to spot them. Upgraded brakes, a modern compact alternator, aluminium radiator, header tank and cooling fan along with electronic ignition completed the picture. Inside all was standard, although the period - yet modernised - radio has a socket for an ipod."...

"If this example from E-Type UK is representative of its usual stock, and in our experience it is, then it's well worth a visit too. The fifth ratio made high speed cruising en route to the ferry more comfortable, while the intelligent preparation and sorting of brakes and suspension made it a car to drive without having to think too hard. There were no default to dial in, as it seemed to cope with any extreme we came up against. We drove through rain, heavy traffic and some of the hottest days of the summer. But nothing phased the car." Jim Patten

The Silverstone Classic this year was a fabulous event, which celebrated the 50th year of the E type.

It was a truly spectacular event. It is claimed that 829 E-types took part in the parade, setting a world record. Together with others that did not take to the track, for various reasons, it appears that at least 1000 E-types attended on the Saturday - it was certainly a fantastic sight.

The E50 event gave us the opportunity to talk to lots of you about your e types, we were able to show some of our upgrades, explain about our maintenance and servicing and some of our e types for sale.

We will also be attending Chelsea AutoLegends, more details to follow.

After a massive 500 hours of refurbishment at E-Type UK, chassis number 1S.2855, manual Jaguar E type V12 Commemorative has just come on the market.

This e type is one of the last 50 E types ever built - a great investment!

The E50 celebrations are well underway!

E-Type UK owner Harry Fulford and two of his e types joined the celebrations with the recreation of the dash to Geneva which orginally took place to launch the e type Jaguar in 1961. All cars on the trip were driven by journalists and the car owners.

The two e types from E-Type UK which went on the trip at the end of February were the 1967 demonstrator e type, and the other was an e type a Series 1 1/2, RHD.

E-Type UK are currently in the process of developing an Air Conditioning system. The aim is to have it complete by the end of September 2010. It will initially be available for 6 cylinder then later for V12 models.

The Air Conditioning system will be added to the E-Type UK demonstrator car so that you can trial it before you purchase. There will also be a powersteering option available also.

In addition E-Type UK are also in the process of developing a bespoke V12 fuel injection system.

E-Type UK will be expanding their 4,300 sq.ft. workshop, based near Tonbridge in Kent, to help it meet the growing demand for its specialist E type sales, upgrade and restoration services.

E-Type UK owner, Harry Fulford explains, "We moved to our current premises in the early part of 2009 which allowed us to take on an increased number of restoration/upgrade projects, while continuing to offer our customers the very highest levels of service and technical expertise. We will be expanding further in the early part of 2011 so that we gain more space for a seperate showroom and offices, so we are taking on another building which is situated next to our current one and will be an additional 2,500 sq.ft."
